If you're a high school junior or senior and have the desire for more advanced and challenging coursework, then College Challenge might be exactly what you're looking for.

The College Challenge program is a cooperative agreement between Indiana State University and participating high schools that enables high school students to earn college credit without ever having to step foot on campus. This type of partnership is called dual credit or concurrent enrollment. For each course successfully completed, you earn credits toward your college degree and high school diploma simultaneously. College Challenge will not only afford you the convenience of taking college courses at your high school during regular hours, but it will give you a unique opportunity to get started on your college education at a special, highly-reduced tuition rate.

College Challenge Course Offerings

Admission Requirements

Eligibility requirements must be verified by a high school official prior to acceptance into the College Challenge program. Individuals must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for admission into the program:

• Indiana student who has completed the regular curriculum through the tenth grade and who is entering their junior or senior year of high school
• 2.5 or higher cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale
• Submission of College Challenge application and a high school transcript

Tuition & Scholarships

College Challenge coordinators have worked with high schools and parents to make advanced education more affordable to students through reduced tuition rates and scholarship opportunities. Students and their parents should be informed of the following:

• Students enrolled in the College Challenge Program receive a significantly reduced tuition rate at a current fee rate of $25 per credit hour or $75-$100 per course. Students who are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program at their high school receive a waiver for the full price of their College Challenge tuition (verification of program eligibility provided by high school administrator).

Transferring Course Credits

College Challenge courses are generally limited to courses found on the Indiana Core Transfer Library, which is a list of courses that will transfer among all Indiana public college and university campuses, assuming adequate grades. Requesting Transcripts

Dual credit earned through the College Challenge Program is recorded on an official Indiana State University transcript. This transcript is part of the student's permanent record at ISU. Students who wish to use ISU credit at another institution must request an official transcript be sent to the intended college or university.
